About

Penguin Place is a private conservation reserve, dedicated to helping the endangered Yellow Eyed Penguin survive. We offer visitors the opportunity to visit a working conservation programme, to experiecne natural activity at close range through a unique system of trenches and viewing hides. The project is fully funded by our guided tours, this funding provides habitat restoration, predator control, a research programme and on-site rehabilitation care for sick, starving and injured penguins. It is our hope that through this work, the future of this rare and wonderful bird will be assured.
