Pho Dong-Huong

14 rue Louis Bonnet Cuisines: Asian

About

Many people come to Paris with the intention of eating in super-swanky French restaurants where the waiters are all dressed in tuxedos. Not so here at Pho Dong-Huong, although you won't be disappointed if you decide to come to this tiny Vietnamese restaurant in the Chinese district of Paris. The Belleville metro stop is surrounded by Asian restaurants, from sushi to Vietnamese to Thai, but this tiny pho restaurant always has a line out the door. The menu is extensive, but stick to the pho choices on the front page: seven different combinations of broth, rice noodles and meat are more than filling, especially when combined with one of the traditional Vietnamese drinks offered, such as Vietnamese iced tea or a drink made up of sweetened milk, red beans and gelatin. -Emily Monaco
