About

Indio Millan of Pueblo Indio set out to connect the far reaches of Argentina with the rest of the world, giving new life to the traditional handicrafts of Argentina's indigenous Mapuche people by presenting reinterpreted art objects, hand-worked wood and leather furniture, and colorful woven textiles in an upscale boutique along San Telmo's main thoroughfare, Defensa. The hand-bound leather and papier-mache journals, hammered silver photo frames, or gorgeous ancient Mapuche icons all make excellent gifts. - Elizabeth Gleeson
