About

Just 8km south of Singapore, this small island is home to some of Singapore's best nature-related recreational activities. Pulau Semakau was opened to the public in 2005, and attracts visitors for its spectacular sports fishing, bird-watching, clean air, cycling, pristine water, star-gazing and island walks.

Plant and wildlife here is largely left undisturbed, and the native plants and animals flourish and grow. Mangroves and coral reefs are also heavily featured here on this island.  The only way to get to the island is by a 20 or 35-minute sea journey from Pasir Panjang Ferry Terminal or West Coast Pier, respectively.

If you want to make a visit to Pulau Semakau, the best way is to go with an organised group from the Sport Fishing Association, the Nature Society, Raffles Museum of Biodiversity or the Astronomical Society of Singapore.
