The Pune International Film Festival (PIFF), is an annual film festival held in Pune, Maharashtra, India, since its inception in 2002. The festival aims at bringing the best in world cinema to the culturally rich city of Pune, thereby giving filmmakers a platform to showcase their craft to the film buffs of the city of Pune. The city gives credence to this event, as it already churns the best fresh talent for the celluloid industry, through the presence of FTII (Film and Television Institute of India). The festival dubbed as the Official Film Festival of the State of Maharashtra is supported by the Pune Film Foundation and the Maharashtra State Government. The festival is an important date on the calendar for film buffs, filmmakers and all from the film fraternity, both locally and internationally.
