Ramakalmedu is a town that is located in the mountainous regions of the state of Kerala and it is a picturesque place. The town is located in the Western Ghats and is located at a height of around 3500 feet above sea level. This mountain is named after the impressions of the feet of Lord Rama have been found on the rock surface. This legend has been mentioned in the epic Ramayana too. One can also visit frog rock, turtle rock and kuravan and kurathi - the highest twin statue of the state Kerala located in the town. The place is one of the windiest places in Asia.  Ramakalmedu lies in the mountain region on the border of Tamil Nadu.
