About

The footpath heading further west of Sangachoeling Monastery through the dense forest and ridge, roughly about three hours walk gets the visitors to a site named Rani Dhunga, where there is a big unmoving rock. Every year on the eve of Ramnawami, large number of pilgrims visit this site, the big stone which the pilgrims believe to be the emanation of god or goddess. Besides the site being sacred for both Hindus and Buddhist, it is suitable for a day jungle trek during the season of wild orchids and flowers.
