Restaurant Alain Pic

Lieu-dit Les Mésanges, Montbonnot-Saint-Martin Cuisines: French

About

The creative statement of a legendary chef, this restaurant occupies a substantial Savoyard house originally built in 1905 in the quiet hamlet of Montbonnot (7km/4 1/3 miles north of Grenoble). Three peaks of the Chartreuse mountain group surround the hamlet. In a comfortable dining room outfitted in richly textured Savoyard style, famed chef Alain Pic prepares sublime dishes that include carpaccio of tuna with baby vegetables, fresh foie gras of duckling served with liqueur-marinated grapes, beef layered with foie gras in a sauce of Syrah red wine, sea scallops in champagne sauce, and tuna steaks with sesame seeds and red wine.
