Sitting atop the Museum of Modern Art at the edge of Mönchsberg, Restaurant M32's wall of windows and patio present a stunning view of Salzburg from the Altstadt and Neustadt to the Alps beyond, with the River Salzach snaking into the distance. In its airy and modern dining room, a row of antlers against a red wall forms a provocative sculpture. The menu offers a fresh take on traditional Austria and Mediterranean cuisine, beautifully presented. In addition to dinner, late breakfast, late afternoon snacks and lunch are served. Though it's a little pricy, the views and the food make it worth a visit. M32 can be reached by elevator accessed from the sidewalk by the Mönchbergsaufzug bus stop at the bottom of Gstättengasse, free with your Salzburg card. Or make it your destination after climbing Mönchsberg and wandering its paths.
