One of the city's best restaurants is oddly positioned in the "Transparent Factory of Volkswagen," a stunning glass structure where you can witness new models of cars being assembled by workers in white lab jackets. The elegant restaurant itself is tucked away near the entrance. Begin with such delights as a crayfish torte with a vanilla-laced tomato sauce or a salad of baked fontina cheese, pears, and bresaola. You might follow with a veal shank with fresh asparagus or orange slices, or else pillowy cheeks of veal with lentils and black salsify. Perhaps saddle of young wild boar with cabbage and roast dumplings will appear on the menu. If you wish, you can drive off in a new Phaeton.
