It enjoys not only the most scenic and tranquil location in Alicante, right next to the castle in the Parque de la Ereta, but it also serves some of the best cuisine, with lots of Valencian specialties including rice dishes. While you're gazing out at the sea, you can enjoy both traditional cookery and a creative cuisine served by a formally attired staff. Instead of the usually tomato-based Andalusian gazpacho, you get a version with avocados. In elegant though minimalist surroundings, you can feast off main dishes that include paella or cod with cuttlefish. El jefe de cocina (the head chef), Daniel Frias, prepares tasting menus that are the best in Alicante province, and he is known for his deft handling of seafood and his market-fresh ingredients.
