Fondamenta Minotto Cuisines: Italian

About

Not far from the railway station and Papadopoli Gardens and quite close to the popular Campo Santa Margherita, this restaurant is located in a quiet area on the Fondamenta Minotto running along a typical Venetian canal. The restaurant has also a peaceful rear garden with a view on a nearby church to dine al fresco in the warm season. Ribò (which takes its name after a famous Italian racehorse) offers land and sea food both from the Tuscan and Venetian tradition. The accent is on a wide selection of seafood specialties but also tasty chianina steak, as meat option, is delicious. As first course, the risotti are worth a try. Fine list of wines and great desserts, especially the chocolate cake! As a curiosity, the owner, Bruno Barbani, was the chef of the national Italian Football Team winner of the World Cup in 2006. - Maria Frullini
