Rikhia, Village Pania Pagaar, PO Rikhiia, Deoghar, Jharkand, India Rikhia peeth is the tapobhumi(place of spiritual sadhana or practice) of Swami Satyananda Saraswati, founder of Bihar School of Yoga,Munger. Swami Satyananda came to Rikhia with the sankalpa to live in seclusion, on 23rd September 1989, the day of vernal equinox, when day and night are in perfect balance. This place was revealed to him in mation at Neel Parbat, Trayambakeshwar, near Nasik, which is the abode of the sacred jyotir linga of Lord Siva, where he is known as Mritunjaya, one who conquers death. After arriving here, Swami Satyananda began long and arduous sadhanas such as Panchagni, the ritual of five fires, as described in the Satpatha Brahmanas and Kathopanishad.
