Rio Alba

At Oro Cuisines: American

About

Tucked away in the neighborhood behind La Rural, this great high-end parrilla is easy to overlook. Its neighborhood makes it a favorite of the embassy crowd. There's a certain old-fashioned flavor to the place, with its white-linen tablecloths, rustic chairs, yellow walls, wheat-stalk bouquets in its columns, and legs of ham hooked to the rafters, mixing a touch of elegance with a touch of the countryside. Cuts of meat are massive and juicy, from the ojo de bife to the lomo. Or choose pork, chicken, or fish, all in hefty portions. Wine from 10 different bodegas is served, and there's a great selection of desserts to top it all off.
