About

Fun and education could be the motto for the Roam Bath Park in downtown Beirut. On the one hand you have the chance to visit and admire a historical site and on the other to mingle with the locals and enjoy a great afternoon out. Wherever the conquests took the ancient Romans, their creature comforts went with them and baths were very much on top of their list. The remains of a massive bath underlying the modern city of Beirut were not discovered until the 1960s and substantial restoration did not take place until after the end of the civil war in the 1990s. Today you cannot only wander around the baths, but also sit on the park-like terraces and benches which like a green zone have been constructed around them. The park is located right behind the Grand Serail which is the imposing seat of the government. Locals love to come here, meet friends, walk or even rollerblage a round and just have a relaxing fun-filled day.
