Golf at Rosapenna Hotel & Golf Links dates back to 1891 when Old Tom Morris of St. Andrews established a championship links course that golfers have been enjoying for over a century now. Added in 2003, the Sandy Hills Links Course provides the perfect complement to the Old Tom Morris links. Most of the holes on the course run north and south along the dune ridges, parallel to the front nine of the Old Tom Morris Course but whereas Morris' course plays alongside them, Sandy Hills plays right through the high sandy dunes covered with marram grass. The seemingly narrow fairways and wide landing areas scultped from the dunes are deceptive, designed with challenging championship play in mind. There are also elevated tees and greens that require drives into the undulating depths of the sandy dunes.
