Since production of Royal Copenhagen porcelain was moved from its Frederiksberg factory and outside the city a number of years ago, part of the old factory has been made into designer apartments. The makers of the world-famous blue fluted porcelain continue to operate here however as a factory outlet store, where high quality chinaware can be purchased at prices far cheaper than those at the flagship store downtown - and though most of the products here have been picked out as factory rejects, the flaws in the porcelain are very small - generally a microscopic bubble from the firing process or a miniscule drop of paint in the wrong place.
