Santoro

Jose Miguel Infante 28 Cuisines: American

About

The standouts on the menu here are more Chilean than international, but there are touches of both. A recent day found a special of some squash soup, pollo arvejado (cooked chicken with peas), french fries and dessert for less than US $7. This is not a great option for vegetarians, but there is a tuna wrap where the tortilla comes nicely toasted (for those who eat fish), and the salad was freshly-made. Santoro is small enough so that you get your food quickly, but big enough that you don't feel like you're intruding. It's got a stark yet cozy interior with splashes of color and a friendly owner who has managed to pull off a sucessful restaurant in an economic crisis. It's conveniently located right off of the main strip of Providencia, near the Salvador Metro.
