Southern Brazil offers an unforgettable scenic train ride called the Serra Verde Express that surrounds its passengers with natural beauty. The 110 kilometer train ride starts in Curitiba, capital of the state of Parana and travels through the luscious tropical vegetation of the Atlantic Rainforest. This exciting train ride goes through around 14 different tunnels and crosses more than 30 bridges. One of highlights of this journey is crossing the Sao Joao Bridge which hugs the mountain at a towering 180 feet! Some of the railroad tracks are extremely close to the sheer cliffs, which generates an adrenaline-charged journey. The tracks traverse the "Serra do Mar" mountain range and cross numerous canyons. You will encounter cliffs, streams, waterfalls and vibrant lush vegetation. The final stop is the port city of Paranagua.
