Sim's Park is an important tourist place to visit in Coonoor, at a height of 1780 meters above mean sea level. It exhibits approximately 1000 species of plants. This park is spread over 12 hectares of land and is located at the Northern side of Coonoor Railway Station. It has variable height, ranging from 1768 to 1798 metres above the sea level. This park was constructed in 1874 by Mr. J.D. Sims and Major Murray. The park is replete with Eucalyptus, Acacia, Pinus and Cinnamomum. Sim's Park also comprises lawns and terrace with colourful flower beds. The rare species of Rudraksh (bead tree) can also be sited in this park.
