The Six Mile Water is a small (3-5m) to medium sized (5-20m) river with good fly fishing for brown trout from April to July. Dollaghen and occasional salmon are present from July but September and October often give the best sport with the migratory fish. Spinning and worming are allowed above Ballyclare but downstream of the town is fly fishing only.Area - 10 miles/16 km.Licence Authority - FCB (Fisheries Conservancy Board).Day Tickets - There is an unlimited number of day tickets costing £5/rod/day from 1st March to the 31st July and then £8.00/rod/day to the end of the season. The fishing runs from the source to the Doagh Road Bridge.Accommodation - There is good Hotel and B&B accommodation available locally.
