State Archaeological Museum houses rarest collections ranging from proto-historic antiquities from Burdwan to terracottas, sculptures, stone and stucco from the Gupta, Maurya, Sunga, Kushan, Pala and Mediaeval times. It was established in Calcutta in 1962 and houses tools of the Early, Middle and the Late Stone Ages.
