The celebrated Rattanakosin poet, Sunthon Phu, has been designated an eminent classical poet by UNESCO. Today Thais, young and old, remember his classic literary works. Held at the Sunthon Phu Memorial Park, this annual event celebrates his birthday with cultural performances and puppet shows depicting his works. Poetry recitals and folk entertainment also add excitement to the event. This is a fun family outing, but you will enjoy it more if you know a little about his work and life.
