About

Szewska Street has been known at least since 1309 under its current name after the trade most common here in the Middle Ages. It was important for medieval Krakow's economy as the city shone in the production of excellent footwear. Nowadays the Szewska street still counts among the historic Old Town's busiest, though the likes of Casio, Sony and Levi's replaced local wares while shoemakers gave way to jewelers, nightclubs and cafes.
