It's not uncommon to see competing restaurants next door to each other, but T&K Seafood in Bangkok's Chinatown shares an intersection with its rival. And we do mean an intersection. The kitchen which is primarily a grill rests on the corner sidewalk along Yaowarat Road with a collection of metal tables and plastic stools. Right across the side street Phadungdao is Lek and Rut Seafood. It's a horse a piece about which one is better. Also known as "the green seafood restaurant in Chinatown" (due to the color of the staff shirts), T&K is so close to its competition ("the red seafood restaurant") that the servers can almost brush sleeves when the crowd gathers... which it typically does. Often the decision of whether to go green or red is made by the availability of a table. Fresh seafood is grilled up right there on the sidewalk. Beer is served. It's as much fun as it is delicious.
