About

The Kirpilä Art collection belonged to art lover and amateur painter Dr. Juhani Kirpilä (1931-1988). He donated the collection of 535 pieces of art, along with his home, to the Kulttuurirahasto Culture Foundation. The collection consists of Finnish art ranging from the beginning of the nineteenth century to the 1960s, and includes work by artists such as Helene Schjerfbeck, Akseli Gallen-Kallela, Hugo Simberg and Wäinö Aaltonen. Lectures are arranged occasionally.
