Taipei 101 Mall

No. 7, Hsin Yi Rd. Sec. 5

About

Far below the Taipei 101 Observatory sits the five story Taipei 101 Mall. After you've taken in the views up top, you can easily spend an entire day browsing the wares of the mall or dining on Taiwanese and international cuisine in the basement's Grand Market. For adventurous taste buds, look for the piping hot stacks of bamboo steamers containing a range of little dumplings. If you've been in Taipei for awhile and crave a taste of home, the Grand Market has a Subway, Haagen Dazs and Auntie Anne's Pretzel. Once you're fueled up and ready to shop, hit the first three floors for every designer boutique you can imagine. The fourth floor houses a bookstore with a sizable collection of English language reading material as well as several fine dining restaurants and cafes. If you know what's good for you, head over to the London Tea House and sample the lavender milk tea. It has a lovely natural sweetness without adding sugar. On the fifth floor, you'll find household goods, electronics and Taiwanese crafts. Featured Image: Flickr/riNux
