About

Situated on the vibrant Szent Istvan korut, this canteen makes an unusual combination of Turkish and Chinese fast food. Strange, but it works and some say the kebabs are among the best in town. A large corner building with giant shop windows looking out onto two streets, the Torok-Kinai is spacious and cool in the hot summers. The fixed red plastic chairs and metal tables are not the most comfortable but functional. The procedure here is that you examine the food on offer at the counter, then pay at the cashier's desk, where you receive a ticket to be given over when ordering at the counter again. The Turkish is better than the Chinese and there is a delicious selection of Turkish bread, kebabs sliced from a spinning trunk of meat, dips and even Turksih pizza. The Chinese stir fry meat and noodles are less inspiring, sitting on the warming plates.
