About

Nestled at the foot of the Kaimai Ranges and Te Aroha Peak, Te Aroha town boasts the Domain, a thermal park established in 1883 with five separate hot springs, private soaking tubs and natural soda water. Bush walks from the Domain lead to the summit of Te Aroha 952 metres where you can see as far as Mt Ruapehu and Mt Taranaki on a clear day. The walk up, while strenuous, is highlighted by native forests and some huge individual trees. A metalled road also leads to the top. Te Aroha is a well preserved country town with a small historical museum, open daily.
