TEM Otoyolu or Trans-European-Motorway links Istanbul to Ankara and is located to the south of the Istanbul Racing Circuit. The term "Otoyolu" stands for the many motorways in Istanbul that connect the European and Asian parts of the city. The TEM motorway has 2X2 lanes and was constructed in 1983. It was thrown open to the public in 1986. The highway is also used for Formula 1 racing events and is surrounded by a belt of refreshing greenery. It is one of the most exciting places of the city.
