The Giant Catfish Farm for the nature lovers. Enjoy feeding the Giant Catfish. There are also a couple of interesting places on the road in from Ao Nang. The first is Ban Nateen - a Muslim village that has set up one the best homestay and activity programmes in southern Thailand. The village itself is just a small collection of housing that holds little attraction. The homestay programme itself is spread throughout the village or at a centre just off the main road. Here you can see a variety of traditional crafts and buy local produce. The other attraction on this stretch of road, about 8 km before Khlong Muang, is the Giant Catfish Farm (T075-644209, daily 0800-1800) ฿฿80. Set up by Nina, an American expat and her Thai husband, Paichit, a visit here is a genuinely eccentric and fascinating experience. More like an adventure zoo than anything else - there are crocodiles, tarantulas, monitor lizards and ponds of huge catfish - the entire place is set up amid the jungle with gorgeous waterfalls and refreshing pools on hand should you require a dip. They also run a very popular restaurant.
