Tjanpi Desert Weavers are famous for creating quirky human figures, animals and even life-size utes using traditional weaving techniques. Call in at the Tjanpi retail gallery in Alice Springs to peruse and purchase an original piece from the range of fibre sculptures and baskets. Tjanpi also stocks ininti (bats-wing coral) seed jewellery combined with gum nuts painted with traditional designs. If the season is right, you may also pick up a fantastic, brightly coloured beanie for the chilly desert winter nights.
