Today the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich consists of just over 100 musicians and gives almost 100 concerts per season featuring about 50 different programmes. Guest performances in Switzerland, growing numbers of concert tours in the international musical centres of the Old and New Worlds, and above all numerous CD recordings, including seven CDs of orchestral works by Richard Strauss and a recording of all the Schumann symphonies, have confirmed the orchestra's excellent reputation with audiences and critics alike.
