A cool white interior and simple elegance characterize this pricey Italian eatery in the middle of Zamalek. One of a string of good restaurants in Egypt owned by the son of Egyptian movie star Omar Sharif (who can be spotted eating here), Trattoria serves small portions, but the food won't disappoint. Start with spaghetti carbonara (this being one of the very few places in Egypt where you can get safe pork products) and move on to the rich and filling osso buco. If you have space left, the ever-changing dessert selection usually includes something for every palate.
