The restaurant serves traditional home cooked food throughout the day using fresh ingredients from local suppliers. The restaurant offers an excellent bar menu available during the day and an extensive A la carte menu in the evening. Steaks are a particular speciality of Treacy's restaurant and as a result are noted by customers in the area of County Laois. Established since 1780 on the Great Heath of Portlaoise, Treacy's is the oldest pub in Ireland in the same family name. One of Ireland's best known landmarks, the thatched premises is situated just off the main Dublin to Cork/Limerick road(M7).Although capable of catering for up to 200 persons, Treacy's retains its warmth and friendly, homely character, nowwhere more so than in the traditional and cosy front bar.
