Trekking up the 14 km path to the shrine of Goddess Vaishnodevi is quite challenging. It is also fun and energizing in a way. The fervent chants of devotees all through the path are inspiring and push one to tread the steep path.Those who cannot comfortably walk can hire pony or dandi (Palanquin). Pithus can be hired for carrying children & luggage on shoulders. It is advisable to avail the services of only registered people and keep their token for the period they are engaged.
