About

Vadim Sidur - sometimes called the Russian Henry Moore - was one of the Soviet Union's greatest artists. After many problems with the pre-perestroika Soviet authorities, the Vadim Sidur Museum was finally opened to the public in 1989. During his life, Vadim Sidur's works were prohibited; even the name of the artist was not allowed to appear in the press. After his death in 1986, Sidur's relatives kept more than 500 of the artist's sculptures in the cellar and tried to open a gallery of his works. The museum's main exhibition is dedicated to Sidur's graphic and sculpture works from different periods of his artistic life. A modest photo exhibit illustrates Sidur's life.
