Venning Park is also home to the Pretoria Rosarium. The gardens are carefully maintained and, during spring and summer (September to February) the roses make a colour display. (Brides often go there to have their wedding pictures taken against the colourful back drop.) In the gardens is a tea kiosk that also serves light meals. The gardens take up a whole block. It is situated in the suburb of Arcadia, and is bordered by Schoeman Street East, Eastwood Street, Pretorius Street East, and Farenden Street. There is no entrance fee. Parking is just to the side of the road. The gardens are across the road from the American Embassy and, if your prefer, Harry's Pancakes is on the corner of Pretorius and Eastwood Streets. They serve the mose delicious sweet and savoury filled pancakes, at a reasonable price.
