Want to go for a swim, but not so keen on paying the prices at the private health clubs No problem! Hong Kong Island has a number of public swimming pools and the biggest one is the Victoria Park Swimming pool. A word to the wise however: avoid peak hours and weekends. Crowds can be a problem. There is a main pool, a training pool, two fun pools and a diving pool. Also has a huge sunbathing area, a large spectator stand with 1700 seats and electronic scoreboard. Best to call ahead and check opening hours and facilities, as these vary from pool to pool. Be aware of winter maintenance closures from December to March.
