A hub for the arts in the heart of the city is housed in a distinctive complex. The Oceanside Museum of Art represents a unique blend of past and present. It's really two buildings from different eras and combines a classic Irving Gill design from 1934 (once Oceanside City Hall) and Frederick Fisher's contemporary Central Pavilion, which added gallery space and a new entry. Together the buildings form an ideal venue for the museum's exhibitions of Southern California regional art in a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, and furniture. The museum also hosts jazz concerts, film series, and free family days.
