Voukourestiou Street

Voukourestiou

About

When you want to hobnob with the wealthy in Athens there's only one place to go: Voukourestiou Street, a partially pedestrianized street running from Syntagma to Lycabettus Hill in Kolonaki. Celebrated fashion houses and icons of prestige such as Hermes, Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Prada and Bulgari have made this lush and shady sidewalk their own, many drawn in by the event of the 2004 Olympic Games. It's also where you can find some of the most well-respected jewelers of Athens like the whimsical-yet-sophisticated creations of Liana Vourakis or the timeless appeal of gold from Michalis and authorized rolex dealer, Kessaris. Whether you're indulging or window shopping, you'll get the best vantage point from over your coffee cup at Clemente VIII or le cafe d' Athenes by Zonar's. (A tarte or chocolate from Zonar's is enough to make anyone feel rich.) Leave via the CityLink arcade, covered with a glass ceiling and cutting all the way through to Panepistimiou Street with plenty more sinfully expensive clothiers and jewelers with wonderful window displays along the way.
