About

Wadi Al Arbeieen is a region about 2 hours drive away from the capital Muscat. This area you can only enter in a jeep. A normal car would be destroyed within a few kilometres. Valleys, dry riverbeds, rocks, mountains, terrain roads, local villages... it all looks very impressive. Even in a dry landscape like this you discover animals like birds, goats and camels. After passing a small village we meet some nomads who requested us some water. The distances these people travel on foot in this heat is inapprehensible, we would probably die in such an attempt. Rocks are changing colours: brown, yellow, white, grey and even black. We reach an oasis with fantastic rock formations. It was very tempting to go swimming here but signs warned us it was a extremely dangerous place to drown. Not easy to get out of the water, deep caves and drift sand. Wisely we only took some pictures instead. This was our last Oman article, we will leave the country later this evening.
