This pleasant pub restaurant is popular with students as well as with city workers from nearby administrative offices. Located on delightful Papagenoplatz, it's close to Altstadt sights but enough off the beaten track to offer respite from the worst of the summer crowds. Stop by the Zirkelwirt - 'drawing compass' - for beer or for a meal. A pretty little garden offers a place to relax outside, while the interior is cozy and intimate. The kitchen serves a range of hearty, delicious food at reasonable prices. This is a long-time Salzburg favourite, mentioned as long ago as 1647.
