About

If your kids are looking for something unique to do such as climbing over old fighter jets, and large, decommissioned cargo planes, exploring a large hangar and outdoor field full of planes and helicopters, do consider the Aircraft Museum TUDM. The museum is located just outside the city center, at the end of the Sungei Besi airstrip. The airstrip was the country's first international airport (till 1965). It is now the base for the Royal Malaysian Air Force and the Royal Selangor Flying Club. There are a couple of rooms displaying the history of the Royal Malaysian Air Force but what's most exciting is the hangar with about 18 planes. The museum opened in 1985 and it shows. Nevertheless the open access to the planes is what makes the trip here truly spectacular. There is no entrance fee charged. Take a cab to the TUDM gate; the museum is on the left just through the gate.
