About

Askadinya offers one of East Jerusalem's most inventive menus, filled with dishes that are fun and delicious. You might start with spiced pumpkin soup filled with herbs and shrimp, or a large, interesting salad. Main courses include lamb cutlets in a sauce of mustard, capers, and sliced palm hearts; and steak filet medallions in raisin-and-caramel sauce topped with crumbled banana and apricot. There are also traditional choices, such as veal cordon bleu, as well as a good array of pastas, poultry, and fish dishes. You can come here for light meals, coffee, and dessert, or for the pleasant outdoor bar. There's a courtyard for summer meals, and a cozy stone dining room for colder weather. On Thursday evenings, there's live classical music.
