Chic, upscale, and soothing, this bistro has lots of fresh flowers and an atmosphere that manages to be both grandly bourgeois and artsy at the same time. It's a suitable venue for either a seduction or a sales pitch, the kind of place meant for celebrations and champagne. Menu items change with the seasons. Food selections on any given night are limited, but you're almost assured that every item is fresh and carefully chosen by the chef. Inventiveness and solid technique go hand in hand here. Tempting starters might include half-cooked sea bass with olive oil and mustard corns, or roast breast of quail flavored with sesame. Main-course temptations are likely to be breaded veal with walnuts and cognac, or baked salmon in a fine pastry and champagne sauce. Filet of turbot is served roasted in caraway and served with a Dijon mustard sauce.
