Bar Mendaur

About

Even in the winter, Mendaur is always full of people dancing all night. The bar is small and sometimes cramped, but the selection of American pop and rock classics, modern top house music and some Spanish songs brings people back every night. There are drink specials on Spanish classics like calimotxo, a combination of Coca-Cola and red wine, as well as beers on tap. During peak seasons, come early or late: the in-between hours are almost unbearably full, and in Spain, smoking in bars is still legal, so you run the risk of getting burned by the cigarette of a too-enthusiastic dancer singing along to "Jump Around." -Emily Monaco
