Břevnov Cemetery at St. Margaret’s | The cemetery was established in the garden of the St. Margaret’s Monastery in 1739. Its current surface area amounts to 1.72 ha. There are 2,520 graves, 970 urn graves, and 880 positions in the columbarium. A low Baroque cemetery chapel of St. Lazarus was built in 1762. Buried in this cemetery, there are the Benedictine monks from the Břevnov Monastery, members of the clergy, capitularies from the St. Vít Metropolitan Chapter, Benedictine Nuns, members of the Order of English Virgins, Discalced Carmelite Nuns, Capuchin monks from Hradčany, and residents of the Institute for Noble Women at Hradčany and the New Town. Nearby the St. Margaret’s Church, there is a copy of a Romanic tombstone of a hermit named Vintíř from approx. 955 to 1045 (the original is placed directly in the church).
