Camino Real

Parque Metropolitano, Cerro San Cristóbal Cuisines: American

About

There's nothing quite like dining in Santiago with the city lights twinkling at your feet. This restaurant/wine bar and museum is nestled in gardens atop Cerro San Cristóbal park, affording sweeping views across the valley and up to the Andes. Smog is an issue if you come for lunch, but even bad air can't mask the thousands of lights at night. The menu is imaginative but there are certainly better restaurants below; what you're here for is the view, and it's worth the splurge. Menu examples include lamb chops with lentils and bacon, grilled sole with barnacle ravioli, and chestnut pudding with cream. The hacienda style of the restaurant has outdoor seating around a central patio, and an indoor dining area.
