About

The massive building Clam-Gallas Palace in Hus street in the Old Town lies at the crossroads of important medieval Prague Castle connector with the center of the Old Town, also called Royal Route, the ancient road leading to Vysehrad. The importance of this point suggests the existence of Roman courts, whose remnant is found in the form of ashlar masonry walls in the cellars of the present palace. Part of the areola was also some gothic church of the Virgin Mary on a puddle tower which dominated the northern end of today Husovy street at the current Marian Square until 1791.
